One of the best times of the year for our team is our Annual Company Outing. Each year, we try to plan a fun-filled and memorable day for our employees to spend time together in a casual stress-free setting as a small thank them for all they do throughout the year. This year, we have to really pat ourselves on the back, as we think we’ve outdone ourselves. With the help of the folks at Rock, Paper, Team, our staff embarked on a fast-paced, hysterically funny photo scavenger hunt in the Financial District of Manhattan. Each team was given a list of tasks to complete and take photos of during the hunt, which started at our office. Everything from the subway ride downtown to the bar challenge was planned perfectly to provide us the opportunity to think outside the box and integrated our company and brand into the search. On Thursday, our team and invited guests enjoyed an evening of networking and celebration at the “it” event for Commercial Real Estate in New York City: the New York City Chapter of CoreNet Global’s Annual Dinner at the American Museum of Natural History. With nearly 900 guests in attendance, we were treated to great conversation with industry partners and friends, as well as delicious food and drinks. Last night, our team (pictured above) attended one of our favorite design industry events of the year – IIDA NY’s Sustainable Quilt Auction. Held at the Open Gallery in NOLITA, a crowd of over 125 participated in the celebration of sustainability and charity in the industry, bidding on quilts constructed from fabric scraps. The quilts, designed by teams compromised of architects, designers, and industry enthusiasts, were largely colorful, intricate and thoughtful in execution. Our team loved learning the inspiration behind each design, as well as the process each team took to get to completion. In addition, proceeds from the quilt bids are going to Be Original Americas, a non-profit that aims to educated and influencing manufacturers, design professionals and related industry members on the importance of original and authentic design.
