As the weather gets warmer here in New York, it’s time for us to enjoy some of our favorite local events and networking parties. Last Thursday, our team and our guests enjoyed another wonderful evening at the New York City Chapter of CoreNet’s Annual Dinner. Once again, attendance was at a record high for the sold-out event on the iconic Intrepid Museum on the Hudson River in Manhattan. Some of our favorite highlights include the Design Competition, the fun Photo Booth, and the beautiful new lounge areas. Check out our recaps and photos below!
In it’s second year, the Annual Dinner Design Competition was an exciting success for the event. The goal of the Design Competition was to give CoreNet NYC Members a platform to express their creativity by interpreting the annual theme and showcasing their submittals at the chapter’s biggest event of the year. With this year’s theme of Global Connections, each participant was encouraged to conceptualize a design using the theme as inspiration. There are intentionally few parameters to allow for as much creativity as possible, with the simple request that submittals fit within a 4’ x 4’ x 4’ space. Five teams from design firms and furniture dealers submitted their interpretations of the theme and the winner, Gensler, was announced during the dinner portion of the evening.
Year after year and event after event – people can’t get enough of the photo booth! Whether you gather coworkers or industry friends, it is a fun place to take photos to remember the night by. This year, the photo booth featured a range of unique props which allowed attendees to remember the night by in an entertaining new way!
For the first year, CoreNet introduced lounge areas for attendees of the dinner to relax while networking during the Cocktail and Dessert Hours. Each of the lounges were impeccably decorated and featured a different aesthetic for the theme of “Global Connections”. An added touch: the logos of the sponsoring companies featured on branded pillows in each of the lounges. Sponsored by HOK, VVA, Design Republic, and Macro Consultants, these lounges were a vibrant, fun gathering area for people to chat and enjoy their cocktails.
Some other highlights included a delicious doughnut bar featuring flavors like passionfruit, apple cinnamon, and Nutella-stuffed and our awesome team at dinner. Talk about a “sweet event” – we can’t wait to attend again next year!
